Summer is the perfect time for kids to get outdoors, soak up some sunshine, and engage in physical activities. Cycling is one of the most popular and rewarding summer activities for children and can also be the perfect family activity. A family cycle is an amazing way to create adventure, explore your local area and create wonderful memories. Children look to us as parents for inspiration and will naturally want to follow and copy what we do. If we are active and enjoy the outdoors with them, the chances are that they will inherit the same love and appreciation for the wonderful world we have around us.
By encouraging children to cycle and promoting a sustainable lifestyle, we also help to create a brighter and healthier future for generations to come.

Physical Benefits
Cycling is a low-impact exercise that is easy on the joints and muscles. It is a great way for kids(little and big) to get their daily dose of physical activity while having fun at the same time. Cycling helps to develop a strong cardiovascular system, improves balance and coordination, and increases overall endurance.
Cycling is also an effective way to build strength in the legs, back, and core which will benefit any other sport or activity.
Mental Benefits
Cycling is not only beneficial for physical health but also for mental health. It is a great way to reduce stress, improve mood, and increase overall happiness. Cycling outdoors in the sunshine and fresh air can help to reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, and promote a positive outlook on life.
Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy cycling, it is generally the warmest and driest time of year.

Social Benefits
Cycling is a great way for kids to socialize and make new friends. It provides an opportunity for children to explore new areas and meet new people, while also promoting teamwork and cooperation. It is a fun way to bond with family and friends, and create lasting memories.

Environmental Benefits
Cycling is an eco-friendly mode of transportation that reduces carbon emissions and helps to preserve the environment. By encouraging kids to cycle instead of driving or taking public transport, we can help to reduce our carbon footprint and promote more sustainable lifestyle practices that they will carry into their adult life.
Don’t think of cycling as being only beneficial to us as humans, it is also a great way to be kind to our planet.

Why a Balance Bike is the Perfect Way to Start Learning
A balance bike is a small, pedal-less bike that helps children learn balance and coordination before transitioning to a traditional bike with pedals. It is the perfect way to introduce young children to cycling, as it allows them to focus on learning balance and steering without the added complexity of pedals.
Balance bikes are lightweight, easy to maneuver, and safe for children to use. They are designed with low seats and handlebars that are adjustable, making it easy for children to find the right fit for their size and comfort level. Balance bikes are also a great way to build confidence and independence in children. Read more here in our post about why balance bikes are the best way to learn how to cycle.
