We don’t recommend using stabilisers (training wheels) when your child is learning to pedal. Since they’ve already gained confidence balancing on a balance bike, the move to pedalling usually comes naturally. Adding stabilisers can actually slow down progress by encouraging reliance on support, essentially undoing the balance skills they’ve already developed. How to measure your child's inside leg length

With your child wearing their shoes, stand them with their back against a wall.
Place a book against the wall between their legs.
Move the book up as high as is comfortable.
Measure from the top of the book to the floor and this is the inside leg length.

How Do You Know When Your Child Is Ready To Begin Pedalling?

In order to start pedalling on the LittleBig bike, your child’s inside leg length needs to be approximately 39cm or more. As well as fitting the bike correctly, your child should also be able to:

Coast along with their feet up
Able to make controlled turns
Preferably able to use the balance bike’s brakes
Have the strength to pedal the bike

Warranty

We offer a lifetime warranty on the LittleBig frame and fork with a 2-year warranty on components – for the original owner only. This excludes wear and tear for smaller parts such as brake cables, noodles, punctures, paint scrapes etc.

We cover any obvious manufacturing defects – not covered are damages caused by neglect, crashes, misusage or wear and tear. All you need to do is contact us with a photo of the problem and we will help get your child back on their bike as quickly as possible.

Why We Built the LittleBig

LittleBig Bikes was founded by Simon Evans - a parent, engineer, round-the-world cyclist and mountain biker - with one clear goal: to help kids learn to ride with confidence

After seeing how quickly traditional kids bikes are outgrown and discarded, Simon set out to create a bike that adapts as children develop their skills. The LittleBig starts as a balance bike and later converts to a pedal bike on the same familiar frame, supporting years of confident riding.

Thoughtfully engineered and built to last, LittleBig reduces waste while offering long-term value for families who want a more sustainable approach to learning on two wheels.
