LittleBig Balance Bike Reviews
At LittleBig Bikes, we’re passionate about helping kids learn to ride with confidence. But don’t just take our word for it—see what parents and riders have to say! Read reviews from families who have experienced the quality, versatility, and fun of our unique convertible balance bike with pedals. Whether you're considering a LittleBig Bike or are already part of the family, we’d love to hear your thoughts!
Both of my children started off their cycling journey on Littlebigbikes. They each got their chosen colour on their 3rd birthdays respectively (one red like Iron Man and one Hulk green!!) and my goodness, how much these bikes were loved! They learned to zoom up and down the bumpy lane next to our house and we were so impressed with the idea that they’d learnt to balance first. They are sturdy bikes that can take plenty of crashing in their stride. My youngest enjoyed the larger local pump track on this balance bike. When each of the boys were ready, we got the local bike shop to make the ingenious conversion from balance bike to pedal bike by turning the back of the bike over. Both kids were a bit bemused at first when the pedals were hitting their ankles but they soon got used to it. Having already learnt to balance, the transition to then just resting their feet on the pedals and then learning to turn these was so much smoother. I’ve seen friends’ families trying to navigate a loss of stabilisers and many disheartening and off putting crashes and I could see that this is the wrong way round to learn - learning to balance should definitely come first! Both boys stayed exclusively using their Littlebigbikes until they were 7-8 years (5-6 years of use!) and now are both confident mountain bikers. We are passing these on to a friend’s family to use now - only slightly scratched but very well loved. I would recommend without any hesitation that this is the best way for children to learn to ride a bike - and certainly the best value for money for a bike! Thankyou for helping us make such positive memories for our family.
We were given a second hand (third hand as it was actually used for two children in the same family) a pre2025 version of the bike that needed a few fixes (breaks changing, handlebar grips replacing and a new seat) to make it look like new again and have it working safely. I contacted Little Big Bikes via email as I could only locate the breaks on the website. They were so helpful, helping me replace parts that aren’t even listed on the website. Threw in freebies for me and even checked we had everything else to swap it to a big pedal bike. When we didn’t, he even added the bolt we were missing and the instructions. This has, therefore, stopped another bike being produced for my daughter and in turn another bike going to landfill later down the line and has given a new lease of life for the bike we were given. Which should last a few years at least based on the age of the girl we got the bike from. My daughter is so pleased with her new bike. Exceptional service!
I bought one of their bikes for my daughter and it was such a fantastic bike that grew with her and then for my younger daughter , the company were a pleasure to deal with , with wonderful customer service and they build such good quality bikes as it is still going strong as we passed it on to younger cousins . I highly recommend these bikes
My son was 3 when he was gifted a littlebig bike by my family. The greatest gift ever given! He was immediately told when he opened it that if he worked hard enough at balancing then he could get pedals. From that moment on he wanted to be on his bike at all times. He worked so hard at getting good at balancing so he could be a big boy and get pedals. Amazingly it also got him eating properly again and he would finish all his food just to get big enough for pedals.
At Christmas he was given pedals by his uncle, and everyone else didn't need to bother with a present because this is the only thing he wanted! After 3 tries with his new pedals he mastered it and now speeds off into the distance and he isn't even 4!
I think these bikes are just incredible, and one of the best parts is the psychology behind it. Because there was always the knowledge that his beloved bike could grow with him and get pedals, it was this great goal to get there and once he had them, he was already so comfortable on his bike it was so easy for him to master pedalling. To think (growing up in the 90s) we didnt cycle without help until we were 5, and here this bicycle is proving that they can do it at 3 and 3/4!
100% recommend
Easy to put together, feels very sturdy and high quality. Perfect for my daughter, can't wait for her to progress on to pedals and not have to buy another bike!
