We don’t recommend using stabilisers (training wheels) when your child is learning to pedal. Since they’ve already gained confidence balancing on a balance bike, the move to pedalling usually comes naturally. Adding stabilisers can actually slow down progress by encouraging reliance on support, essentially undoing the balance skills they’ve already developed. With your child wearing their shoes, stand them with their back against a wall.
Place a book between their legs and gently raise it until it's snug.
Measure from the top of the book straight down to the floor.

If the measurement is between 33cm and 54cm (13–21"), the LittleBig will fit.

How Do You Know When Your Child Is Ready To Begin Pedalling?

Once your child can confidently balance, steer and coast along with their feet off the ground, they’re ready to try pedals.

There’s no need to rush. Let them build confidence on the balance bike first, then add the Pedal Kit when they’re ready. Because they’re learning to pedal on the same familiar bike, the transition is usually much easier.

Ideally, they should be able to:

Coast comfortably with their feet off the ground
Make controlled turns
Use the bike’s brakes confidently
Have enough strength to turn the pedals.

Warranty

We offer a lifetime warranty on the LittleBig frame and fork with a 2-year warranty on components – for the original owner only. This excludes wear and tear for smaller parts such as brake cables, noodles, punctures, paint scrapes etc.

We cover any obvious manufacturing defects – not covered are damages caused by neglect, crashes, misusage or wear and tear. All you need to do is contact us with a photo of the problem and we will help get your child back on their bike as quickly as possible.
